Resumen
Ante el creciente uso de archivos orales relativos a la violencia de Estado durante
la historia reciente de países latinoamericanos, este artículo reflexiona sobre
sus características diferenciales y aportes a los debates de la historia del tiempo
presente, la oralidad y el ejercicio testimonial. Teniendo como referente archivos
orales recientemente conformados en Argentina, Chile y México, se argumenta
que su puesta en marcha enfrenta tensiones metodológicas respecto de los inevitables
usos e intencionalidades políticas del ejercicio investigativo, as. como
por las implicaciones .ticas del brindar, procesar y hacer accesible a un público
amplio este tipo de testimonios. Asimismo, se discuten las problemáticas que se
enfrentan al analizar la militancia de los testimoniantes y al enfocar el ejercicio
testimonial desde la condición de género y la pertenencia étnica.
Abstract
Facing the increasing use of oral archives regarding institutionalized violence during the recent history of Latin-American countries, this article reflects on their distinctive characteristics and contributions to debates about present time history, orality and testimonial practice. Having as referent oral archives recently conformed in Argentina, Chile and Mexico it is argued that their implementation faces methodological tensions regarding the unavoidable uses and political concerns of researching practice, as well as ethical implications of providing, processing and making available to a wide audience this kind of testimonies. Likewise, we discuss the problems faced while analyzing the militancy of testimonials and focusing testimonial practice from gender condition and ethnical belonging.
